Why do I want to be ANC for SMD 8C03?

Greetings,

After a good friend of mine was recently robbed at gun point in front of my apartment building and outside of the apartment building where the ANC Commissioner resides, I have decided to once again run for the ANC seat to represent and advocate for Single Member District 8C03.

During my first campaign for this seat, I came to know a lot of important and powerful people who are ready to work with me to bring much needed change and development to SMD 8C03. This year as a candidate for the State Board of Education, I was blessed with an outstanding learning experience that has made me not only a better candidate but a well-informed advocate and transformational leader.

In 2010, I received a huge amount of support from the voter turnout, unfortunately not enough votes were cast for me to claim the win. However, community members kept their word while doing the best possible to have me elected. We are told that it was impossible to beat the incumbent, but true commitment and perseverance kept me in the race thru the end.

Next year, many members of the 8C03 community will be at the polls in November to cast votes for a Councilmember, a State Board of Education member and the President of the United States. I will be conducting a transparent yet committed campaign to be elected as the new ANC for SMD 8C03.

Like last year, my attempt to be elected has nothing to do with anyone in or out of office. I am a self-motivated and community inspired activist that wants to help improve the quality of life for all.

My campaign will be suited to address Public Safety, Youth & Senior Civic Engagement, Revamping MLK JR Ave, and Youth issues. As expected, in the days that draw closer to the official launch of the campaign, I will introduce detailed goals and plans to community members to begin a proactive dialogue to discuss how we as a community can move towards change.
