Larry is doing work in the city to address/resolve these issues:
1 . DMV Unjustly Doubles Ticket Fines
Larry has been in communication with the Director of the DMV disputing how the DMV doubles fines of contested tickets during the time frame in which citizens are waiting to learn rather or not their contest to a ticket/fine has been approved or denied.
When citizens learn that their contest to a ticket/fine has been denied, the ticket has also been doubled.
Some citizens receive notice of a doubled fine without ever receiving notice of the original fine.
Larry has a ticket that has been suspended by the DMV while a hearing examiner determines the legal grounds for which the ticket can be dismissed. His dispute states that he received a Red Light ticket for which he crossed the intersection while avoiding a near-fatal accident due to wet weather conditions.
During this process, Larry found that the DMV unjustly doubles fines and also fails to properly issue an original notice to citizens regarding tickets/fines by using old addresses - this is an advantage for the DMV to double fines.
