I would like to enforce the understanding that I am running for ANC Commissioner of SMD 8C03, because this is now where I reside and its always been my passion and commitment to serve in the role of an advocate, pulse and Leader for my community.
My candidacy is not about Commissioner Mary Cuthbert or any other person. I am running because I decided to run and this is something I've always wanted to do. Now, that I'm older and wiser and this is an election year, I am going for the gold.
This is a friendly run against the longtime Commissioner and well-known community activist. I know too little about her, to attack her in any way whatsoever. That's not what I stand for.
Do I feel that the community can be in a better position than it is now, sure! That's why I'm running. But to make remarks about a person in order to gain a position its not in my character.
The community has expressed positions on both sides of the political fence in regards to their commissioner. If elected, one could say that I made my position as the better Candidate, this election.
